Entanglement She was always entangledIn the web of responsibility,And never found any space for herself,Always busy being the devoted daughter,The reliable sister, the affectionate wife,The dutiful daughter in law,The strict mother, the beloved teacher,The loving grandmother,Never any time for herself,Till she retired. Then she freed herself,And started writing,And now the words poured out of herLike a torrent, like a tumultuous sea,Like the strong wind,And the fall of leaves,And then she was filled with peace. Finally free, free, so free.

The Entangled WebI floundered in a confounding web of entangled thoughts and emotions. My life oscillated insanely between the heights of happiness and the depths of despair.I tried to evict, suppress, dodge, overcome, and ignore the convoluted, threatening web. I struggled in vain to find a loose end to pull to free myself. Finally, fatigued, famished for freedom, I surrendered to the entanglement and its deathly grip. I waited in fear for the inevitable. But magically, the knots fell away. The web evaporated into nothingness. Embracing entanglement is the way to be free of it.

My crazy psychological entanglement increased along with the twines on my head. My self-esteem diminished to its lowest curve. Tongues wagged, some were positive, others suggestive. My physical look of the curly wave was entangled in my mental state of agony. My rationality blurred with negative thoughts. It’s God’s gift which I should cherish, and not sulk. I overcame the fast-evanescent dilemma. My real epiphany got my curly mesh of entangled hair chopped; and retained to a manageable size, instead of straightened hair. I was light at the head and happy in my heart, a confident individual at last.

Entanglements remind me of the freedom I never had,I shriek, to be let freeFree from everything that binds meLiberated from the troubles that blind meReleased from the pain that grinds meUnburdened from the shattered expectations that never understand me,Unshackled from the overbearing critiques that ring behind me,Disengaged from the toxicity that beckons and finds me,Entangled in worldly trammels,Knotted in my own thoughts,I seek an escape, I seek myself,From self-induced misery,Let me be free,Let me be free, of me.

Isn’t a woman’s life a perfect example of an entangled existence? Entangled in the mess of household chores and the online classes, straddling both with equal elan and ease. Churning midnight stories as swiftly as rustling up rotis. Not that she loves getting entangled in this web of responsibilities, expectations and cacophonous din of her family. Playing every role dexterously, she too needs a break! A detox perhaps, entangled in the arms of her hubby or a token of appreciation. Is it too much to ask? After playing the perfect homemaker, the world still jeers, “She has not done enough!”

Free or Bound? The monarch* stuck in the spider’s web refused to give up. She fought till she got her freedom.Only I understood her struggles. No one else. You know why?Coz her fight was just like mine… except for one difference. She won!I looked towards the heavens as her wings fluttered against the twilight sky.Alas, not all can be free…I smiled as my five year old cheered, “Daddy I love you!”I’m bound to be in the closet, forever. Entangled in the mesh of familial expectations and societal pressure, but above all … the love of my daughter. (*Monarch – butterfly)

ENTANGLEMENTBooks are human’s best friends. But when it comes to preparing for competitive exams, you have to envy some of your book-friends since time compresses itself. Aspirants have to bear the burden of swimming across the ocean of books so as to diligently ferret real hidden treasure beneath the underwater. Going for numerous books within stipulated time might trap you in mare’s nest, making you impuissant to countdown your precious time. Completely comprehending a book within a specific span seems to be implausible as accomplishing a great book is similar to working like a Trojan for years.

Is this the MAN, the wisest creature on earth?” asked the alien. ” Then why is he always worried?”God replied,” Because he is constatly desiring. – -Poor wishes for riches; rich yearns for a simple life.Bachelor wants to get married, married wants to turn ascetic.A looser desires success; the succesful wants to shed the load of his head.Life is designed like a spider’s orb web; with no loose ends to escape. The key is to identify those quadilaterals where he fits in easily.””It’s tough! ” alien gawked.”It’s fun!” God winked. “Isn’t he the WISEST!”
