Book Title : Action packed crime thriller
Crime Thriller
~Have you read any crime thrillers recently?
~Wastra is a suspenseful, crime, dangerously mysterious story. It is primarily set in the 90s, in Bombay. It is divided into 17 long chapters. It is full of violence, murder, revenge, gang wars, and betrayal.
~The story begins with violence. A murder takes place by the railway lines and a crime investigator, Shalini Shanmugam is assigned to the case. As the investigation proceeds, it becomes clear to her that it wasn't just a normal case of a beggar getting attacked, and while her investigation she also finds out that it had something to do with the underworld mafia and most importantly with Wastra, the mafia king back in the 90s.
~As she continues with her investigation, she is met with Shinde. Shinde is a drunk who meets her in Saraswati bar. Shalini puts out a photo in front of him and starts to ask questions regarding that.
~Shinde narrates her an entire, more than 12-hour long story, which is also 11 chapters long. Shinde is a master storyteller. He begins with something that seems unrelated to the case but as he reaches the end of the story, all the puzzle pieces fall together. Events unfold slowly revealing the real story.
~The story was astonishingly a masterpiece. It was really fast-paced and you will have to read each sentence carefully because so many facts, incidents have been packed in the entire book. The characters were merciless and extremely violent.
~The writing style is complex and not beginner-friendly, and so it is perfect for readers like me. The storyline narrated by Shinde was in coordination with real events that happened in Bombay, thus making the story believable.
~I personally liked Wastra after he becomes the Underworld King. Also, I kind of expected the ending but it was still really a mind-turning twist.
~And for the love of God, how many cigarettes did Shinde drink on daily basis??
