“Sometimes, we do not get a chance to thank each one who has helped us in our Journey.” Let the readers get a chance to know about all the important people who have played a part in this ‘Author Journey of Yours’.

First of all, I consider God as my biggest supporter who supported me in every major trouble, when no one was with me. I consider myself a role model to my father and elder brother. Whatever I am today is just because of my father and mother who fulfills all my dreams and they made me capable of this and supported all my creativity since childhood. Daddy gifted me painting colors on every birthday and encouraged me to do paintings. My brother supported me by ordering books for the preparation for the civil services exam. My parents gave me a lot of love and support as I become an author.

Can you tell a bit about your debut book titled “Chamde ka Lutera” and share a few lines from it? Who is your favourite character from the book and why?

A story of a middle-class family. A journey of Delhi metro. Riya is a princess of her father and she lives like a royal princess. A story of college friends. She always talks frankly to boys. She had a weakness in social media. The girl who is intelligent didn’t want to top in college because her dream was to touch the sky. She got beaten and everything snatched from her, she became a wingless bird. Suddenly she stopped talking with her friends. Her dreams were shattered in front of a cruel world and taunted like, what you will be in your life, you are made to do household chores. Riya never lost the hope and courage, she bedded from their own ones for completing her dreams. When she was busy with her dreams, no one had any expectations from her. She was treated like a culprit without any crime. While another side her friends are enjoying their life after being repeating wrong things. She surrounded herself in the smoke, drinks world after getting the success.

Riya is my favourite character in the book because Riya struggles for everything and does not lose hope to get what she wants.

According to you which are the 5 books that everyone should read and who are your top 3 Authors and what impact did they have in your journey as a writer?

Five books that everyone should read-

  1. The Secret
  2. Who Will Cry When You Die?
  3. Think and Grow Rich
  4. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck
  5. The Alchemist

My top three authors are Munshi Premchand, Rhonda Byrne, and Robin Sharma. After reading the books of these three authors, I feel very motivated and they inspired me a lot.

What is the story/inspiration behind “Chamde Ka Lutera”?

I took inspiration from a middle-class family girl for writing my debut novel ‘Chamde Ka Lutera’. I have seen many girls not following their dreams due to family restrictions. The reason behind writing my novel was to change the mentality of my society so that I could help those girls with the respect that they truly deserve. Because a family gives rights to boys for doing anything then why don’t they give the same to girls?

What has been your most cherished experience as an author?

When “Chamde Ka Lutera” was nominated for Best Fiction Novel. When I received the award for Best Fiction Novel, it was a very memorable day for me which would be difficult to describe in words. I have achieved many things by writing my first novel. First is the author tag before my name and Second is fame. And also a lot of love and blessings of many people like family, friends, teachers, and social media friends.

My advice to my fellow writers; do the work in which you are interested and can inspire everyone and only that can give you happiness.

“Story to Screen 2020” is an event in which nominated the national and international authors which were organized by The Literary Mirror. And there the jury members after reading the story announced to create a web series on the winner’s novel on behalf of Literary Mirror. In the “Story to Screen 2020” event, my story was selected in the top 10 and it was a great pleasure for me and it was like dream for me.

How can a writer keep the mental block or writer’s block away from his/her creativity?

Writer’s block depends on his/her mental block and his/her mental block results in his/her creativity.
